Our law firm maintains the rights of various authors and firms of the music and film industry. As a member of the public charity” “saferdownload” our law firm strictly observes § 97a UrhG of the German copyright law which determines the charges for a law firm at 100.00 EUR per warning letter. This guarantees that our clients will not be seen in the wrong light due to excessive and unreasonable law firm charges.

The warning letters following the statutes of the public charity “saferdownload” are meant to serve both as enlightenment about the consequences of copyright infringements and as preventive measures. This is achieved by means of an extra information sheet which is attached to every warning letter. There is also granted a voucher to be used with legal download sites which introduces the offender to the possibilities of legal download sites. In addition to this the public charity “saferdownload” promotes educational work, e.g. at schools, where students inform their mates about the economic consequences for authors and firms of the music and film industry, using educational material provided by “saferdownload”. Thereby the students make also clear the economic danger one gets into when using illegal download sites, with legal damages against the offender at a minimum of 450.00 EUR.
